Four Oaks runs four PMIC residential programs serving children between the ages of 5 and 18 who have serious emotional, behavioral, and mental health conditions. The basic foundation of these programs is designed to help youth develop positive self-concepts as well as social and problem-solving skills,while integrating child and family treatment components. They also provide services to reduce the risk of the child needing a foster care, shelter care, or group care placement, or—if they are already in an out-of-home placement—to resolve issues so the child can return home.
This is a specific program in Cedar Rapids, Dubuque, and Waterloo that incorporates evidence-based interventions for juvenile offenders. While remaining in the community and connected to their families, participating youth attend the program 5 days a week— participating in individual and group treatment, group outings, and community service projects.
